You do not have a choice.
When people get work opportunities, offers, scholarships, grants etc. that you consider out of your league and so far off from your reality, all they did was “sell” themselves.
While the entire notion of selling can be said to come naturally to some, for the most part, it is a developed skill.
You take, for example, the work opportunity, in a call for applicants for a job, there is a minimum of at least 300 other applicants vying for a similar position with you.
