These are my words
How am I doing?
You answer the name — Oreọ̀fẹ́ and carry on with your life unperturbed, exactly how you should be doing. To demonstrate the goodness that you will always possess all the days of your life, your essence never goes unnoticed in a new space. Other people have 24 hours, but time is patient with you.
This is the clarity of purpose that comes with the name. A clear understanding of what success should mean to you and an image of yourself as a success while keeping true to your name in all that you do.
Unlike Oreọ̀fẹ́, many of us have allowed fear to paralyse us from doing the things that we love. We are unable to forgive ourselves when we fail. Unable to face life with optimism. Unable to distinguish between discipline and self-abuse. Unable to seek help.
For most people, seeking help can be quite difficult or awkward or both. But then, giving and receiving support from others is a basic need that should never cause anybody discomfort. Some are fortunate to be born with tremendous support systems, others come across them midway through their lives after building brick-by-block. Yet some people never seem to find their tribe.
To never seek help whether from friends, acquaintances, family members, coursemates, housemates, colleagues, business partners, etc. is a self-deprecating behaviour. As long as these people have shown that they are non-judgmental, active listeners and are willing to support us in those vulnerable moments, it wouldn’t hurt to accept a good thing occasionally.
And given that it is okay not to have everything figured out, keeping an open mind is one way to close the figuring out gap. Find what makes you happy, work at it diligently, and make yourself teachable at all times, and it will only be a matter of time until you achieve stratospheric success. And remember what has been working for others might not necessarily work for you. Know what works for you.
